Motorcyclists should pay for parking
I believe that BCCOM does a great job of lobbying for the rights of bikers, but when they start to ask for things like free parking when John Q Public has to pay to use the same spot then they are hurting the movement by alienating the people who have more influence with the lawmakers.
They have already gotten dedicated motorcycle parking and reduced rates, which I am sure does not sit well with a lot of non motorcycling citizens. I am sure that there are still those riders who park on the sidewalk and in bicycle areas to avoid parking fees which bothers pedestrians who have to manoeuvre around the obstacles and takes up parking spaces for bicycles which should be paying their way also, but that is another can of worms for another day.
