Hells Angels Nomads return to Ottawa...

It was reported that on Saturday, April 16 2016 at approximately 10:30 am, a man riding a motorcycle crashed into a ditch on Béthany Road in Lachute after being shot by one of two suspects from an old greyish blue SUV. Witnesses also said that there was another motorcycle which appeared to be with the victim but fled the area. It was also said that he tried to protect his girlfriend who was riding with him, and sources reported that he suffered a punctured lung.

Further investigation revealed that the victim was former Olympic boxer Phillip "Crazy" Boudreault, 41, also reported to be the vice-president of the  Ontario based Hells Angel Nomads Chapter.

Boudreau's is shown here attending the funeral of Lionel Deschamps,  Saturday, November 7, 2015, a longtime member of the Hells Angels’ Montreal chapter who died of cancer. Boudreau could be seen walking side-by-side with Martin Bernatchez, 35, the president of the Hells Angels Nomads Ontario, who was the victim of a shooting in August 2016 which occurred around 2 a.m. Friday at the L’EstriVal campsite. Bernatchez was shot three times. The gunman escaped. A gunman approached Bernatchez after sneaking through a wooded area and spanning a creek in total darkness. Despite the serious injuries he sustained, Bernatchez is said to be "surprisingly well," said a source. The jacket with the colours of the Hells Angels Nomads that Bernatchez usually wears is bulletproof. It is not known if he was wearing it during the attack.

The shootings of Boudreau & Bernatchez were said to be the result of an internal conflict.

It is speculated that the Hells Angels in Quebec are behind the closure of the Nomads chapter of Carlsbad Springs. Ontario Nomads have been accused of encroaching on the territory of some Quebec bikers, members of the Sherbrooke chapter in particular, and have not paid taxes.

Nomads chapters are considered as “elite” among the Hells Angels. Police experts have testified in past court cases that the Nomads designation means the chapter’s members can operate without the territorial limitations other chapters.

On July 23, 2016, the Nomads Chapter in Ottawa hosted the National Run or Canada Run, July 21-24 at Carlsbad Springs, Ontario, near Ottawa, Ontario to mark the clubs 15th Anniversay in Ontario. It was reported that over 500 attended the event. The Sherbrooke Hells Angels did not attend.

But on August 28, 2016 the Ontario Nomads 5th chapter clubhouse on Piperville Road, off Hwy 417, just a 15-minute drive from downtown Ottawa was closed.
The Charter appear after the December 29, 2000 patchover of almost 200 Ontario bikers.

The 0.92-acre, gated compound where the Nomads met was retained as the home base for four chapters of the Red Devils, with about 30 members at that time & considered a club affiliated to the Hells Angels.

At the time The Hells Angels had about 175 Ontario members and 450 members across Canada. About 60 of them are in custody or are restricted from associating with outlaw bikers because of bail or parole conditions.

Now in 2018 it has been reported that the Ottawa-based Nomads chapter recently obtained a new charter from the Hells Angels. The size of the chapter seems unknown at this time…..
